Rear Fender Update- October 27, 2006

Because of various scheduling factors at the collision center, Sherman had been sitting outside since his old fender was cut off June 16, 2006. Earlier this week he was brought inside where sandblasting began. You can see where there is no longer rust at the base of the C pillar and at the rocker panel. The collision center plans to drill out the spot welds at the middle/top of the C pillar and join the "new" rear fender at the factory seam. I got a look at my sandblasted "new" rear fender from the parts car and it has a fair amount of Swiss cheese (rust perforated metal), so getting the whole nine yards repaired will take a lot of skill.
