Sanding and priming the roof
This is what the car looked like when it had paint. This is circa 1980's. I am the one kissing the back window, while my brother explores the roof.

Below is a detail shot showing some of the hard work that goes into this kind of project (most of which the body shop performed). Take for example this passenger side corner at the A pillar. All the chrome had to be removed. the windshield had to be removed, the crack welded, everything sanded to remove the rust, windshield channel cut-in with paint, and the windshield installed with a new gasket.
